The two Litter Traps in Borneo have been in the water for 5 months already. They are located in front of Sim Sim Water Village and Berhala Island.
The Litter Traps catch floating waste before it enters the open waters. Since day one, the two Litter Traps have retrieved a total of 1280 kg of litter, of which 645 kg is plastic!
To prevent the retrieved plastics from entering the seas and oceans, we aim to set up a local recycling workspace where new and durable products will be made.
